Lisa Hefner Heitz was among the authors for the 'first ever Kansas Book Festival' hosted in Topeka in 2006.
Lisa graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor's in English, then worked on a Master's in American Studies at KU.
Her first published book was "Haunted Kansas: Ghost Stories and Other Eerie Tales," which was dedicated to her parents, Gene and Reeselynn Hefner. Lisa is working on a sequel.
She's lived most of her life in Kansas. Currently she lives with her husband, Mark, in Topeka. They have three golden retrievers and a daughter in graduate school in Ohio.
